Come and meet us at the Chagford Show

We’ll have a stand at the Chagford Show this Thursday the 15th August, so please come and see us for a chat. We’re keen to hear your thoughts and ideas of how together, we can improve the way the moor is managed, and to answer any questions you have about the project – though as it’s early days, we don’t have all the answers yet!

We’ve been fortunate to be able recruit a great team to help us deliver the 2 year Development Stage of the project, who bring with them their passion for Dartmoor and a wide range of skills.

Leading the Team, as Project Manager is Claire Hyne (formerly of Papillon Gin and the Heritage Lottery Fund), and newly started are two Farm & Common Coordinators; Wendy Couch (most recently working for West Country Rivers Trust on the Upstream Thinking project) and Laurie Phippen (most recently part of Natural England’s Dartmoor Team). They will be working with the farmers and Common Associations in our project to develop an ambitious, innovative and bespoke 20+ year programme of land management that will deliver a wide range of public benefits alongside food production, and to sustain viable farm businesses for the next generation.

If you can’t make the Chagford Show, there will be other opportunities to meet us. We’ll also have a stand at Widecombe Fair, and are organising various meetings with our participating farmers and other organisations who work on Dartmoor.

So hope to see you (in the sunshine) on Thursday.
